A Marvelous Weekend

Saturday I indulged myself with a full day of looking up words in the dictionary. Not new words; words I already knew or thought I knew.

Sunday I read the New York Times Book Review in its entirety, emotions rising and falling like a buoy on a stormy day, then read this review of the review. Between the two, my feelings were conveyed.

  1. Pete, I was at a dinner party recently, where one of my wilder accomplices quipped, "A reader approaches death with remorse, rueing over the millions of binders that he/she has yet to crack, while a writer welcomes 'the inevitable' as the only form of honest procrastination." I thought you of all people would appreciate this.
